i am training
to be the cactus
in your chair
wait, NEW REPORT JUST IN:
the never-ending block of cheese
has come alive
and is terrorizing all the mice
in the city!
tramps have started eating
all the twinkies
AND
i just salted a man cold
for taking my dog’s water bowl
you silly fools
did you think i slept in school
i drank in school
got flanked in school
earned rank in school
for all the in-crowd
OUTCASTS
who outlast
the drought cabs
in a race
damn droolers
creating bigger puddles
for the poolers
me
on the rooftop
rebel flag in my hand
burning it
just to make a point
that to idolize anything
is to lose thyself
and to lack obsession
is sometimes
the act
of
discipline.

On the Def Jam floor at Universal Music, about to play some fresh records
Been up in New York City for almost two weeks and have had some really great experiences.
Trip MOtivaTion: Over the last couple of months, I’ve been preparing some fresh records to shop. I knew that NYC was the place I had to be to get them to the right ears.
Also, I got a little restless in CLT and got mentorship advice that going to a larger market can open more opportunities.
So, I bought a one-way ticket up to NYC :)
I came up with the great Kent Murphy whose been such an inspirational guide and mentor. He’s a DOPE producer who’s apart of the production team Dark Matter . They’ve worked with acts from B.O.B. to Heavy D just to name a few.
We were able to do a couple writing sessions for a new Lava Records/Universal artist, have a meeting at Def Jam, and also hit up Quad Recording Studios (everyone from Mariah Carey to Tupac recorded there). Through all of these experiences, met some dope artists, producers, songwriters, and music management.
With all the opportunities I’ve had and people I’ve met in the little time I was up here, I will say to anyone wanting to do music: build a solid team, take risks, and go wherever you need to in order to advertise your talent and show people your passion.
S/O: Kent Murphy & Dark Matter, my manager Giovani, Benie Beatz, The Dyno Bros., Kevin Timmons, Quentin Evans, Adam Shinn (Microcosm) and the budding squad at B.i.M. Music Group for making this trip possible :)
